2008 Team Mom Responsibilities
I want to say thank you for taking on the responsibility of being a team mom.
There are representatives for each league and they will be your points of contact during the season. When there is information to go out to the parents, such as information concerning pictures, fundraiser or the end of the year picnic, these people will contact you with the information. If you have any questions, please call or e-mail your rep.

What are the
responsibilities?
Snack List - It is easier for everyone if you make a list with your game date and assign your parents to a date (optional – discuss with coach).
Drinks – Parents are responsible for providing drinks for your team after the game. Many times snack and drink are combined so that the person responsible for snack is also responsible for drinks. Or you can split it up and have one person responsible for snack and one for drinks.
Concession Duty – Each team will be responsible for working the concession stand about 4 times, which averages each person working two or three times. Each time your team is scheduled to work, you must schedule 4 parents for duty (3 for the main concession and 1 for the back concession). Parents have the option to:
1. Work the concession stand.
OR
2. Pay $15 for a teenager to work for them. Out of the 4, there must be at least two adults (one to work in the front concession and one to work in the back concession). Team moms are responsible for contacting the teenagers to work. A list of approved teenagers will be provided to you. You are only able to contact teenagers off the list provided. If a teenager is used, you must drop off an envelope (filled out and money included) to the duty officer at the concession stand prior to duty. The following information is required on the envelope:
Team Name (i.e. Major Braves)
Names of teenagers working shift
Date and time working
Amount of money in the envelope
Some teams will have to schedule parents more than twice, if this occurs, some solutions are:
a. Ask for volunteers
b. Pull out of hat as to who will work
c. Everyone chip in and pay for a teenager
Some things to keep in mind when dealing with your parents:
· Remember that this is a volunteer organization and sometimes things will go wrong. Attitude is everything.
· Encourage your parents to volunteer.
· Some parents have a difficult time being asked to volunteer. Some are unaware that this league is run off volunteers and what it costs to run a league. They need to be reminded that the league has to pay for umpires, balls, bats, uniform shirts, uniform hats, helmets, catchers’ gear, lawn maintenance and the list goes on and on.
